As Ibn al Qayyim states: Many people saw Ibn Taymiyyah after his death in their dreams and asked him many difficult questions on issues of Fiqh Masaa’il and he replied to all their questions. Only those people can reject this who are ignorant of the status of the spirits (Arwah) [Kitab-ar-Ruh, end of chapter 3., Ibn al-Qayyim]

Also, Ibn al Qayyim mentions that:When numerous people have the same type of dream and what they have seen in their dreams actually happens – to call these kinds of dreams as only dreams, this is said by the people that have no sense [Kitab al Ruh, Chapter, 3., Ibn Qayyim]

• Ibn Kathir writes that In the 18th year of the Hijra during the Khilafa of ‘Umar,(ra), there was a famine. ‘Umar and Bilal, May Allah be well pleased with them, went to the blessed grave of the Prophet (
), and said ‘Ya Rasul Allah! Your Umma is dying (from hunger), pray for us that Allah sends us rain’. Later, Bilal, (ra), had a dream in which the Prophet of Allah, ( ), told Bilal to go to ‘Umar, and convey his salaam, and to inform him that there will be rain and that he should perform Salaah Istisqa’. This is a very authentic narration. [Tarikh Ibn Kathir, chapter Khilafa of ‘Umar, (ra)]

” Ibn Taymiyya says that:In the time of a drought, a person came to our Prophet’s grave and complained about the drought. He then saw our Prophet, (
), who said go to ‘Umar and tell him to perform the Salaah of Istisqah. [Iqtisa Sirat al Mustaqim, page 373, Also Imam Bukhari has mentioned about this in his book, Tarikh al Kabir, biography of Malik al dar]

• Ibn Kathir also recorded this event, he writes; When an Arab came to our Prophet’s grave and said “I repent from my sins through you and ask for forgiveness, I would give my life for you”. Afterwards our Prophet, (ﷺ ), appeared in the dream of Utba’, (ra), and informed him to go to the Arab and convey the message that there is a good news for him that Allah had forgiven his sins. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, under 4/64]

after the battle of Badr, the Prophet ( ) himself called the slain infidels by their names and asked them: Surely, we found the promise of our Lord absolutely true. (O infidels and non-believers!) Did you also find the promise of your lord true? At this juncture ‘Umar bin al-Khattāb said to the Prophet ( ): ‘O Prophet! You are addressing bodies which have no soul in them.’ To make it clear, the Prophet( ) addressed the Companions: I swear by the Power Who has in His control the life of Muhammad! The words I am speaking to these (infidels and non-believers), they far excel you in their power to listen to them. Bukhārī bk. of maghāzī (military expeditions led by the Prophet) ch.7 (4:1461#3757)

Allāh has declared it forbidden for the earth to eat the bodies of the prophets. So the prophets are living and they regularly receive their sustenance. Ibn Mājah bk. of janā’iz (funerals) ch.65 (1:524#1636-7)

Once during the time of the holy Prophet ( ) famine gripped Medina. The Prophet ( ) was delivering the Friday sermon to us that a person stood up and said, ‘O Messenger of Allāh, the horses and the goats have died. So pray to Allāh that He may send us rain.’ The holy Prophet( ) raised his holy hands and prayed. Anas relates that (at that time) the sky was as (transparent as) cutglass. (But on account of the Prophet’s prayer,) the breeze blew instantly and the clouds came over. Then they grew quite dense and then the sky opened its mouth wide (that is, it started raining in torrents). We came out from there and (drenched in rain and) almost drowning in water, we reached our homes. The rain did not stop till the next Friday. The same day the same person or someone else stood up and said, ‘O Messenger of Allāh, the houses have collapsed, so pray to Allāh that this may stop.’ He smiled and then prayed (to Allāh) that rain may fall around us, and not on us. So I saw that the clouds had rolled away from Medina (and Medina appeared) as if it was crowned by the sky.

In another tradition, Anas relates that Allāh shows to the people the blessing of His Prophet ( ) and the acceptance of his supplications.(bukhari, muslim)

Abdullāh bin Mas‘ūd says that the holy Prophet ( ) cried so bitterly over the martyrdom of his uncle Hamzah in the battle of Uhud as he had never cried before. He says that he placed his coffin in the direction of qiblah and burst into tears until he started hiccupping. Then he addressed Hamzah and said:O Hamzah! O the uncle of the Messenger of Allāh! O Allāh’s lion! O lion of the Messenger of Allāh! O Hamzah! O doer of good deeds! O remover of troubles! O protector of the radiant face of the Messenger of Allāh!…(Qastallānī related it in al-Mawāhib-ul-laduniyyah (2:104); and Zurqānī in his Commentary (4:470)).

‘Uthmān bin Hunayf replied:By God! I did not talk to him, but once I was in the company of the Messenger of Allāh ( ) that a blind man came over to see him and complained to him about the loss of his eyesight. The Prophet ( ) asked him to be patient, but he said: ‘O Messenger of Allāh! I don’t have any guide and I am in great trouble.’ The Prophet( ) said: ‘fetch an earthen pot and perform the ablution, then offer two cycles of prayer and implore Allāh with these praying words.’ Then (‘Uthmān) bin Hunayf said: ‘By God! We had neither gone out far away from the meeting nor had the conversation among us stretched out that the man came to us as if he had never been blind.’ Tabarānī in al-Mu‘jam-ul-kabīr (9:31#8311)

When I want to talk to Allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
