DAY OF EID

“whoever stood up for worship (spent the night in worship) in the two nights of Eid (meaning the night of Eid-ul-Fitr and the night of Eid-ul-Adha) to gain good deeds, his heart will not die on the day when all other hearts will die”. (Ibn’e Majah)

SUNNAHS OF EID

Offer Salaah-tul-Fajr in the Masjid in your area.

Having a bath.Doing Miswaak.Wear nice clothes, if new wear them, otherwise wear washed ones.To put Ittar on.Wearing a silver (less than 4grams with a stone ) ring .

Cutting hair and nails (cut your hair according to Sunnah and not according to the English styles).

On Eid-ul-Adha don’t  eat anything until eid Salaah.

while going for Eid-ul-Adha one should say the Takbeer loudly.To recite the following Takbir while going to the ‘Eid prayer:Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar La Ilaha Ila Allah Wa Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar Wa Lillahi Alhamd .

It is preferable that the ‘Eid prayer is performed at an open field and not in a mosque.

To go walking to the Eid Gah.(it is better to walk and there is no harm in coming back on any sort of transport.)

To go to the Eid Gah relaxed and dignified, with eyes kept down.When going for Eid Salaah choose one path and when coming back come on from another path.

Giving a lot of charity.

It is desirable to read Eid-ul-Adha Salaah early.

listening to the Khutbah of ‘Eid Salah is wajib or necessary and must be heard in perfect peace and silence.It is a sunnah that the Imam begins the first Khutba by reciting takbirs ‘Allahu Akbar’ nine times and the second Khutbah with reciting it seven times.

After Eid Salaah shaking hands.  It is better to embrace one another, like the usual custom of the Muslims, since it shows affection. Congratulating each other. Showing happiness.

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
