Ata’ ibn Abi Rabah (ra) said I heard Ibn `Umar (ra) say I heard the Holy Prophet(saws) say “When one of you dies do not tarry, but make haste and take him to his grave, and let someone read at his head the opening of Surah Baqarah, and at his feet its closure when he lies in the grave.” (Tabarani)
“Whoever visits my grave after my death is as those who visited me in my life.” (tabarani)
Allah (swt) said “I will please you with regards to your ummah and will not disappoint you”. (Muslim)
“I have saved my du’a for the intercession of my ummah. If Allah wishes, this du’a is for those of my ummah who do not associate any partners with Allah”. (muslim)
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (ra) said: “The Prophet(saws) stood over the well of Badr [into which the bodies of the mushrikeen had been thrown] and said, ‘Have you found the promise of your Lord to be true?’ Then he said, ‘They can hear what I am saying now.’”(bukhari)
Anas (ra) narrated that the Prophet(saws)said: If any Muslim dies and four of his closest neighbours witness that he was pious, Allah says: I approve what you know about him, and forgive him (what you do not know). (AI-Hakim).
When Hadrat Uthman ibn Mazoon (ra)was buried, the Holy Prophet(saws)placed a stone on the head-side of the grave and said, “With this, we place the recognition of our brother’s grave and shall bury the deceased of our family here.”- Mishkaat Sharif.
The dead (person) is punished in his grave because of the wailing over him.(bukhari)
Surat Tabarak is the protector from the torment of the grave (al hakim)
Indeed, when the soul is taken away, the eyesight follows it.(muslim)
Safeguard yourself from the drops / splash / sprinkling of urine because generally the punishment in the grave is brought about due to not remaining safe from the drops of urine. (Tirmizi)
“The Prophets are alive and they pray in their graves” ( al-Mundhiri and al-Bayhaqi)
……..The grave is the first of the hereafter’s domiciles; if one passes through it safely, what follows will be easier; and if one does not pass through it safely, what follows will be more horrible……(tirmidhi)
When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
