Haazir o Naazir-Concept
“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)
The Concept of Haazir-o-Naazir.
1.When the words “Haazir” and “Naazir” are used for Almighty Allah they mean : “Knower” and “Seeir” and do not mean “present everywhere”. (See details in Fatawa Shaami, Vol.3, Page337).(allah is present/hai )
2. The words “Haazir” and “Naazir” according to its literal meaning are not suitable for Almighty Allah. Whenever it is used for Allah it is used with Ta’weel (re-interpretation).
3. In the 99 Names of Allah, one would not find these words. No where in the Qur’aan, Ahaadith and books of Jurist Imams have these words been used for Allah.
4.Since the words “Haazir” and “Naazir” do not mean “omnipresent(present everywhere)”, nor are their literal meanings suitable and applicable to Allah, the ‘Ulama have used the words “Haazir” and “Naazir” for (ra)soolullah ﷺ.
To be haazir and naazir at everyplace in not the quality of allah ﷻ because he is free from area and space . allah doesnot endure time and no space can encompass him –books of beliefs (aqaaid).
If allah ﷻ is everywhere,what need is there for us to go to the kaaba?also ,what benefit was there for the holy prophet ﷺ to go the heaven on the night of me(ra)j?
During hijrat ,the kuffaar of makkah reached the entrance of the cave wherein the holy prophet ﷺ and hadrat abu bakr (ra) were present .the sahaabi became apprehensive ,prophet ﷺ said — ‘don’t worry ,allah ﷻ is with us.in other words ‘allah ﷻ is with us and not with those kuffar.thus allah is not everywhere because the kuffar are also part of this world.
1.means allah ﷻ is with us with mercy and compassion and with kuffar with fury and anger.
2.allah ﷻ is our ruler who abets us.allah ﷻ is also the ruler of kuffar but he does not assist or demonstrate mercy to kuffar.
Allah is present (HAI). No one is present like Allah Ta’ala being Present. To accept allah ﷻ being present in every place is not part of deen .this is the glory of the holy prophet ﷺ.
“allah ﷻ knowledge and power (qudrat) encompass the entire creation”.
Allah is definitely haazir but he is free from being in an area ,which is why the ayat 7/54 has been classified as mutashaabihat .
even if it is quality of allah ﷻ even then the holy prophet ﷺ will then be ataai ,haadith (ending),a creation and in control of Allah ﷻ . haazir and nazir for allah ﷻ will become original (zaati),infinite (qadeem),not a creation and not in the control of anyone else.
There are 4 qualities which are unable to be bestowed because divinity is concentrated on them (wujood,qidam,khaaliqiyat and not losing life and existence).the splendour of other qualities can be present in the creation (eg seeing hearing etc).major difference is ,as these qualities of allah ﷻ are original (zaati) obligatory and will not cease,while those of creation are successive (ataai) and will cease.
Whereas the presence of the souls is with time and with place. Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is given power by Allah Ta’ala to be Haazir and Naazir.
The holy prophet ﷺ being present everywhere is similar to the angels and sunrays .these things are present everywhere but don’t become impure by being in unclean places.the light of sun doesn’t become impure by coming into contact with impure places,so how can impurity be accepted to reach the noor of the holy prophet ﷺ?
do you accept allah ﷻ to be haazir in all of these places or not? If you do ,then is this not disrespectful to him as well?
Every qabr of the saints is a reflection of prophet ﷺ noor .visiting them is necessary for us to gain noor ourselves.
