Iman, Shariath

“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem””Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

Imam Ahmad ibn Muhammad At-Tahaawee  (843 – 935) was a famous Islamic Scholar who followed Hanafi school of thought. He is  famous for Aqeedah At-Tahawiyyah, a treatise on Aqidah that has been accepted by all four schools of thought (Hanafi, Shafi’i, Maliki and Hanbali). Both

Imam al-Maturidi and At-Tahaawee said Iman (faith) consists of “conviction in the heart and affirmation by the tongue.

Imam Al-Maturidi  declared (on the authority of Imam Abu Hanifa) that the foundation of belief consisted only in conviction in the heart, the tongue’s affirmation is a supplementary integral /pillar (rukn zâ’id).

The other three Imams, Maalik, al-Shafi’i and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal said that Islamic belief consists of ‘conviction in heart, affirmation by the tongue, and practice with the limbs.

We believe that all Imams are correct.

Saying and believing in heart is the condition.

Three distinct stages in Islam, ie, (i) Faith in Heart (Iman), (ii) Deeds by limbs (Islam) and (iii) Complete attention towards Allah (SUBHANU WAATALA) /Tasawwuf  (Ihsan).”

(Musnad e ahmed ) “Whoever is pleased by his good actions and grieved at his wrong actions is a mumin.”

(Tirmidhi) “The most perfect of the muminun in iman is the best of them in character.”

“Modesty is a part of iman.”(bukhari, muslim)

“The simile for the muminun in their mutual affection, mercy and kindness is [that they are] like a single body; if a single organ or limb of it has a complaint, the rest of the body collapses in fever and sleeplessness.” (bukhari, muslim)

(Al-Hakim) “He who eats to satisfaction while his neighbour is hungry is not a mumin.”

“The one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe(best muslim).”(muslim)

All of the Muslim is sacred for the Muslim: his blood, property and honour.”(muslim)

“Certainly, in the body there is a morsel of flesh, which if it is sound then the whole body is sound, and if it is corrupt the whole body is corrupt. Certainly it is the heart.” (hadith

1.The best [part] of iman — ‘That you love(gives) for the sake of Allah and hate(withhold) for the sake of Allah and you exercise your tongue with the remembrance of Allah.’

2. The second best [part] of iman —“That you want for people what you want for yourself, and you dislike for them what you dislike for yourself.'”

3.The second best [part] of iman –“and that you speak well or be quiet.” (musnad e Imam Ahmad)
