When a human being dies, all of his deeds are terminated except for three types: an ongoing sadaqah, a knowledge (of islam) from which others benefit, and a righteous child who makes Dua for him.(muslim)
The best that a man can leave behind after his death are three things: a righteous child who makes Dua for him, an ongoing sadaqah whose rewards continue to reach him, and a knowledge that continues to be implemented after him. (ibn majah)
Among the good deeds that continue to benefit a believer after death are: a knowledge that he taught and disseminated, a righteous child who lived after him, a Quran book that he left as inheritance, a masjid (mosque) that he built, a house that he built for the wayfarers, a stream that he ran, or a charity that he gave from his wealth during his healthy lifetime so that it would reach him (in rewards) after death. Ibn Kathir writes that In the 18th year of the Hijra during the Khilafa of ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with Him, there was a famine. ‘Umar and Bilal, May Allah be well pleased with them, went to the blessed grave of the Prophet ﷺ, and said ‘Ya Rasul Allah! Your Umma is dying (from hunger), pray for us that Allah sends us rain’. Later, Bilal, may Allah be pleased with Him, had a dream in which the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, told Bilal to go to ‘Umar, and convey his salaam, and to inform him that there will be rain and that he should perform Salaah Istisqa’. This is a very authentic narration. [Tarikh Ibn Kathir, chapter Khilafa of ‘Umar, may Allah be pleased with Him]

accepted her prayers because of her tears in them in front of Allah and her
son’s sight would be return’. When Imam Bukhari awoke in the morning, his
eyesight had returned. [Tahrikh Ibn Kathir, under biography of Imam

He said: “Do you know what you are doing?” When he came near him, he realized it was Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. The latter said: “Yes; I came to the Prophet, not to a stone.” [Musnad Ahmed Bin Hanbal 5:466, Imam Hakim in his Al-Mustadrak 4:520, Hadith # 8571, Where he declared the chain as “SAHIH” and Imam Dahahbi also called the Hadith as Sahih]
Al-Tirmidhi
Hadith 5963 -Narrated by Abu Bakr-When Allah’s Messenger ﷺ died the people disagreed about his burial, and Abu Bakr
said he had heard something from Allah’s Messenger. He had said, “Allah
takes a Prophet’s life only in the place where he wishes to be buried.” So
