ZAAHIR AND BAATIN

Hz abu huraira(ra) learnt 2 types of knowledge /ilm zaahir and baatin (if exposed people will kill me)

Ilm e zahir /shariat and ilm e baatin /haqiqat , Prophet ﷺ  gave both ilm’s.

Rejection of Ilm e zahir /shariat or ilm e baatin /haqiqat =kufr /disbelief

Ilm e nafae = knowledge  learnt from a person whose heart is free from duniya.

Ilm e baatin=from heart (got from nisbat e sufiya/awliya +hardwork+spiritual ascend)

Ilm e zaahir=from tongue (got from books from various scholars +hard work+proof/hujjat)

Ilm e zaahir accepted by brain AND  Ilm e baatin accepted by heart.

Niyyat is baatin/hidden AND amal is zaahir/apparent

Ilm/knowledge from books to books by studying AND  Ilm/knowledge from heart to heart by experiencing(kamil/perfect knowledge) .

ilm e zaahir/shariat/hujat/proof and its farz 

Zaahir is for ibadat and baatin is for zuhd/no duniya.

Zaahir e taharat (wuzu) cleanses your body and baatin taharat(islah e nafs) cleanses your innerself/nafs.

Zaahir and baatin must be 1(ahklaq/character).

ILM E BAATIN/HIDDEN

from asrar/signs to sir/secreats

from heart/soul to heart/soul (if ruh occupies heart ,heart becomes like a ruh)

from ahkfa/apparent to kafi/hidden

experienced

results in misguidance or perfection.

ilm e baatin/tasawuf –part of shariat dealing with purification nafs/heart and soul for becoming insan e kamil/perfect with the help of a murshid .this knowledge is very selective and secreative .for example hz yaqoob(as) said to his son(hz yousuf(as) ) not to talk about dreams in front of his brothers. This is because common people will create fitna out of their small understanding/intellect.

Correction of baatin results in acceptable amal/deeds

Good baatin meaning for the sake/pleasure of Allah.

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
