Asking help— dua

WHAT IT MEANS TO ASK HELP FROM OTHER THAN ALLAH

1.To ask an individual to pray to Allah on your behalf

2.To ask help from other than Allah (from either the living or dead)

3.To make Supplication through Wasila

IT IS PERMISSIBLE TO ASK SOMEONE ELSE TO MAKE SUPPLICATION ON YOUR BEHALF?

4/64 … And, (O Beloved,) if they, having wronged their souls, had come to you imploring the forgiveness of Allah, and the Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) had also asked forgiveness for them, then (owing to this mediation and intercession) they would certainly have found Allah Most Relenting, Ever-Merciful.

This verse explains how Allah has commanded those that sin to request the Messenger Rasulullah (saws) to pray for their forgiveness, and then Allah would forgive them.

24/62…….surely those who seek permission from you (believing your Majesty the Supreme and Ultimate Authority), it is they who are the believers in Allah and His Prophet. So when they seek from you permission (to go) for some affair of theirs, then (you are the Supreme Sovereign Authority). Grant leave whom you please, and ask forgiveness for them from Allah (even on going away from your company by obtaining your permission, lest they should be seized even on that). Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.

In this verse, Allah is commanding His Messenger to ask for forgiveness on behalf of those obedient and righteous people. The simple reason is because the supplication of the Prophets or pious are accepted more rapidly.

60/12. O Prophet! When the believing women appear in your presence to take the oath of allegiance that they will not set up anything as partner with Allah and will not steal, nor will they commit adultery, or kill their children, or bring false blame which they have invented between their hands and feet (i.e., will not deceive their husbands declaring some other’s baby as their own), or disobey you in (any) matter pertaining to law, then accept their allegiance and seek forgiveness for them from Allah. Surely, Allah is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.

Allah is commanding the Messenger to supplicate for those women who had pledged allegiance to the Prophet and promised they would be truthful etc.

12/97-98- They said: ‘O our father, seek for us forgiveness (from Allah) for our sins. Indeed, we alone are the sinners.’ Ya‘qub (Jacob) said: ‘Soon shall I pray to my Lord for forgiveness for you. Indeed, He alone is Most Forgiving, Ever-Merciful.’

the sons of Sayyidina Yaqub (as)are requesting him to make supplication to Allah to forgive them for their sins. This proves that asking someone more pious and humble to make supplication on your behalf is permissible.

59/10 —In these verses, Allah has praised the pious for supplicating on behalf of others.

14/41 Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents and believers on the day when the account is cast.in your salat (prayers) five times a day!

EVEN THE PHARAOH (FIRAWN) KNEW THAT THE SUPPLICATION (DUA) OF THE PROPHETS AND PIOUS ARE ACCEPTED —43/46-50

THE HYPOCRITES DID NOT WANT THE PROPHETS OR THE PIOUS TO PRAY FOR THEM—-63/5-6. And when it is said to them: ‘Come so that Allah’s Messenger (blessings and peace be upon him) may seek forgiveness for you,’ these (hypocrites) jerk their heads aside (insolently) and you see them keeping away (from your presence) in arrogance. It is all the same for these (evil-fated denigrators of the Holy Prophet [blessings and peace be upon him]) whether you seek for them forgiveness or do not seek for them forgiveness, Allah will never forgive them (because they mock you and show you dislike and arrogance). Surely, Allah does not provide guidance to the disobedient community.

This verse informs us that the hypocrites did not want Rasulullah (saws) to pray for them.

43/67-70. On that Day, all friends and acquaintances will become enemies to one another except the pious. (Only their friendship and nearness [wilaya] will prove fruitful.) (It will be said to them:) ‘O My (intimate) servants, there is no fear for you this Day, nor shall you grieve.’ (It is) they who believed in Our Revelations and were always obedient (to Us). Enter Paradise, you and your intimate companions* (all); you will be honoured (with blessings, comforts and the pleasures of Paradise). * According to the eminent exegetes like Imam al-Qurtubi, al-Jami‘ li-Ahkam al-Qur’an (16:111), Ibn Kathir, Tafsir al-Qur’an al-‘Azim (4:134), and al-Shawkani, Tafsir Fath al-Qadir (4:563) the words azwaju-kum in this Verse also imply ‘intimate companions’ in addition to ‘wives’. On the basis of this authority, the word azwaj has been translated as ‘intimate companions’ instead of ‘wives’.

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

Make sure you forward this to others .
