Dieseases Of The Heart-Mujahidah Muhasaba

MUJAAHIDAH –MUHAASABAH- MURAQABA

MUJAAHIDAH -Mujaahidah consists of the habitual practice of opposing the nafs (man’s lowly desire).

1. Physical Mujaahidah- This is the imposition of practices upon the nafs in order to accustom it to difficulties, e.g. accustoming the nafs to Salaat by imposing upon it Nafl Salaat in abundance; reducing the greed of the nafs by means of abundance of Nafl Fasting. To eat less, To speak less, To sleep less and To associate less with people.

2. Opposition-In this type of Mujaahidah the nafs is opposed in its desires. When the nafs urges to commit sin then opposition is offered. The main type of mujaahidah is this second kind. This second kind of Mujaahidah is Waajib (compulsory). When the nafs becomes accustomed to difficulties then it will develop the habit of controlling its desires.

MUHAASABAH -One should reflect over the entire day’s acts and deeds. Upon recalling a noble act or an act of Ibaadat, express one’s gratefulness (shukr) unto Allah Ta’ala and request for greater taufeeq (ability and inclination) to enhance virtue. Upon recalling one’s evil or wrong doing- become regretful/do touba. do toubah for mistakes ,be pleased with allah and thank allah.

MURAQABA-it is to recite the names of Allah and quran with concentration(with meanings) and devotion .

MUSHAHIDA OR WITNESSING: This is the recognition of the Light of Allah. One begins to see Allah in everything. This is the attainment of the vision that grasps the essence rather than the outer form.Meditation is suited to the person who has cleaned his Qulb, Purified his Nafs (self) and enlightened his Ruh (soul) to some degree.

CLEANLINESS OF HEART-to make the heart empty of the worldly desires by zikr and submit to allah totally.

CONTEMPLATION- by perfect faith and love,The heart and the soul remain in eternal prayer.Always do ibadat with heart and soul.

ALLAH ‘S LOVE TOWARDS MAN – in showing much favour to him,keeping him safe from sin etc

ALLAH WOULD BESTOW HIS LOVE ON THOSE –who do righteous/good deeds, keep an eye on their heart, do their duty towards their brethren. prefer them to themselves/solitude.

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
