Tauheed Vows-Proofs

Shariath, Tauheed Vows

“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

MANNAT-NAZAR O NIAZ –VOWS AND OBLATIONS

3/35—And (recall) when the wife of ‘Imran said: ‘O my Lord, I vow purely to You what is in my womb, freeing him (from other obligations). So, accept (this offering) from me. You are indeed All-Hearing, All-Knowing.’ ….

An example of this is that the mother of Sayyidah Maryam said, “O Allah(swt)! Whatever child I carry in my womb! Vow (nazar) for you. The child will be dedicated to the service of BaitulMuqaddas.” The vow was for Allah(swt)and the recipient was Baitul-Muqaddas,(3/35)

19/26– ..….Then if you see any man, say (to him by gestures): ‘I have vowed a fast (of silence) to the Most Gracious (Lord), so I shall just not talk to any human being today.’

76/7-9. (These privileged servants of Allah are those) who fulfil their vows and keep fearing that Day whose severity spreads afar….

2/270– And whatever you spend or whatever you vow to offer, Allah verily knows it and the evildoers have no helpers

5/89—‘Allah will not hold you responsible for oaths taken by misunderstanding, but he will hold you responsible for oaths, which you have made binding. Then the penalty for breaking such oaths is the feeding of 10 needy people, with average food with which you feed your fasting members, or clothing them, or freeing a slave. Then for whoso finds not anything of these, for him is the fasting of three days. This is the alternative penalty of your oath, when you have sworn, and guard your oaths, thus Allah explains His signs to you so that you may be grateful.’

22/29— Then let them cleanse their dirt (i.e., cut their hair and nails on removing ihram, the Pilgrim attire), fulfil their vows (or the remaining prescribed rituals of Pilgrimage) and make (the prescribed visitation) circumambulation of Allah’s Ancient House (the Ka‘ba).

76/9……..(And say:) ‘We are feeding you only to please Allah. We do not seek any recompense from you nor (wish for) any thanks.

22/31—Devote yourselves wholly to Allah alone, not associating (anything as) partner with Him. ……

A vow is an act of worship. Fulfilling the vow and care for the oaths  is part of imaan.

Best and accepted vow is when one makes a vow to perform a prayer, fasting, offer Zakaah, perform ‘Umrah, or other such acts of obedience and worship.

Best and accepted vow is that which you can do it easily(capable) with obedience for the sake of allah to gain his pleasure because vow is an act of worship.

Ibn ‘Abbas(ra) reported that a woman was travelling in the sea, and she vowed that if Allah saved her she would fast for one month. Allah saved her, but she died before fulfilling her vow. Her daughter came to the Prophet (saws)and mentioned this to him. He asked, Had she owed money as debt, wouldn’t you have paid it on her behalf? She replied, “Yes.” He said:Allah’s debt is more worthy of being fulfilled. So fulfill (the vow) for your mothers (bukhari)

Sa’d Bin ‘Ubadah reported that he told Allah’s Messenger(saws),”My mother has died; and she had an unfulfilled vow.” He instructed him: Fulfill it for her. (bukhari)

“One lady came to the Prophet when he was returning from one of his battles and she said, “Ya Rasulallah, I have made an oath that if Allah sends you back safe, I would play this drum near you and sing for you.”The Prophet (saws) said, “Fulfill your oath.” (abudawud)

Sad Bin Jubayr(ra)reported that Ibn ‘Abbas(ra)said: “If a man gets sick in Ramadan and then dies without fasting, food should be given on his behalf – without a need to make up for the fasting. But if he had made a vow (to fast), his wali should fast for him.”(abu dawood)

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

Make sure you forward this to others .
