“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

ISLAH E NAFS IS BY

Niyyat =only for the sake of Allah and to gain his pleasure/raza (deedar /sight of Allah).

Following sharia (laws) AND  knowledge of self (tasawuff) helps in islah e nafs

being in sohbat e auliya/sufi/perfect insan.

Nafs e muhammadiﷺ  helps in islah e nafs

Fearing Allah means avoiding sins /disobedience.

Loving Allah means following sunnah of rasoolAllahﷺ

Nafil (for gaining qurb/nearness of Allah) =little extra for islah e nafs (sharia + nafil ibadat )

Niyyat means intention of qalb.

Heart is for marifat/understanding not for duniya.

Niyyat is everlasting and deeds are not everlasting.

Riya/show off/hypocrisy destroys deeds.

Niyyat can be related to many deeds and deeds cannot be related to many intentions.

No intention for dua/zikr/recitation of quran but differentiating zakat and sadaqa.

Good intention cannot be accepted if the means are contradict to islam.

Deeds of heart are superior to the deeds of other body parts.

People see the action and Allah sees the intention

Niyyat

To please/raza Allah alone (don’t see the act/person/yourself(riya/showoff))

To follow sunnah

To be a true servant of  the prophet(To reform yourself).

More the number of intention more is the reward for 1 deed/action

Not for worldly gains (only to seek allah’s pleasure)

Iqlas (for allah)—–Niyyat(for allah)—amal/deeds(for allah)

Going out =ask for shahadat

Work =for earning halaal

Eating/sleeping =to gain strength for doing ibadat.

Graveyard =to seek forgiveness

Pious =to meet allah’s friend

Prayer= for next prayer/salah

Masjid=itikaf e masjid

Leaving Sins =fearing Allah and punishment in ahkirah.

Helping people =to please allah (don’t see the act/person/yourself)

Gathering =avoiding because people must be free from my mischief’s

Learning =for kidmate deen as a talib e ilm.

To spread word of haqq/truth.

Aim of the life = Islah e nafs (CONNECTION WITH NAFS E MUHAMMADI ﷺ)

NAFS E AMMARA(TEMPERAMENT OF SELF)

Character/ahklaq is the reflection of nafs.

Nafs is baatin and its siffats/attributes are hasad,bukul,hirs, adawat,gaflat,ghibat,anger ,jealousy,sexual orientation ,short tempered etc etc etc .

Nafs is zaahir when exposed to environment. Nafs is zulmati/oppressor and darkness.

General nafs (ammara/temperament of self /inciting evil) =desires , gazab/anger, zulm/oppression, shawat/lust and orientation

More desires = self praising (worshipping Allah)

More gazab/anger= takabbur/riya (arrogance/show off) (ask Allah to help)

More shahwat=bad ahklaq/bad character (ask for sirate mustaqim)

TREATMENT

1.keep reciting and practicing surah fathiha

2. Poverty/faqr =no hawas/gazab/shahwat.

NAFS E LAWAMA(SELF CURSING,SELF BLAMING SOUL)

This nafs tries to prevent individual from commiting sins

Self blaming for doing wrong.

Individual feel little bad with in himself (remoarse/nadamat)

This nafs tries to prevent individual from commiting sins

Siffat/attributes =helping others ,avoiding sins, takabur, self interest,

Prone to sins and good deeds commits which ever comes easy.

NAFS E MULHIMA (INSPIRED SOUL)

Guiding nafs for doing good deeds –taqwa,touba,iqlas,shukr sabr,raza,charity,knowledge ,simplicity ETC ETC

NAFS E MUTMAINAH(SATISFIED/RAZI SOUL)

Ruh has occupied heart –heart is like ruh now

Wilayat sugra/kubra starts

NAFS E RADIYA(PLEASED WITH ALLAH)

Good ahklaq and pleased with Allah

NAFS E MARDIYA (ALLAH IS PLEASED WITH HIM)

He is like a baby/soft hearted with good ahklaq

No self existence ,exist with Allah

NAFS E SAFIYA/KAMILA(PERFECTION)

Perfect slave/abd -protection from sins

Siffats/attributes of Allah colouring the soul –truthful ,helper,

All the stages are baatin /hidden in heart/soul)

Soul/actual interpretation=heart/actual +mind/interpretation

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
