Zikr-My Sake
“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

So always worship Me, and establish Prayer for the sake of My remembrance.20/17
Prophet ﷺ said to Abu Hurayra: “Go with these two sandals of mine and whoever you meet behind this wall that witnesses that there is no god except Allah with certitude in his heart, give him glad tidings that he will enter Paradise.” (Narrated by Muslim.)
“And establish regular prayer, for prayer restrains from shameful and unjust deeds, and remembrance of Allah is the greatest thing in life, without doubt.” (29/45)
“So establish prayer for My remembrance.” (20/14)
“He is successful who purifies himself, and remembers the name of his Lord, and so prays.” (87/14-15)
“Only in the remembrance of Allah (SUBHANU WAATALA) will your heart find peace” (Surah 13/28)
Zikr/remembering Allah” means ”tongue acknowledgment and heart confirmation”. i.e. it is a repetition and mind concentration that awakens one’s heart and feelings.
The word zikr has many meanings. It means: Allah’s Book(quran) and its recitation, Prayers, Learning and teaching of hadith /fiqh , Du’aa, Remembrance of Allah in the heart, or in both the heart and the tongue, darood o salaam and even pondering over Allah’s creation etc
Dhikr involves muraqaba or meditation, through which one reaches the state of ihsan or excellence, wherein a person worships Allah as if he is actually seeing Him.
Acts of dhikr brings much peace and tranquility to the heart. It also gives us a sense of taqwa(fear of Allah).
Zikr is the easiest form of worship which induces love for Allah. it is form of charity.
O ye who believe let not your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of Allah . (63/9)
“Those men and women who engage much in Allah’s praise. for them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a Great Reward”(Surah 33/35)
“Remember me, I shall remember you.” (Qur’an 2/152)
“They are the most wise who remember Allah, standing sitting and lying down” (4/190)
“Satan has mastered them and caused them to forget the Remembrance of Allah. Those are satan’s party; and satan’s party shall assuredly be the losers” (58/19)
“Whosoever turns away from My remembrance, his life will be made tight and narrow on the Day of Resurrection We shall raise him blind” (Surah 20/124)
You shall glorify Him day and night. [33/42]
According to these verses the attitude of those who truly remember Allah is the following:
1. Their hearts are filled with the fear of Allah because they are reminded of the status and the Glory of their God.
2. Their skins creep, i.e., the hair on their bodies rise due to their state of fear.
3. Their bodies are softened, their hearts become tender.
4. They prostrate, i.e., they start worshiping Allah .
5. They cry or weep.
“Remember Allah (swt) so
much that people start saying, ‘He has gone mad.’” Ahmad ibn Hambal, al-Musnad (3:68#11671)
“Let your tongue stay moist with the remembrance of Allah.”(ahmed)
Abu al-Darda’ narrates: The Prophet once asked his companions: “Shall I tell you about the best of all deeds, the best act of piety in the eyes of your Lord, which will elevate your status in the Hereafter, and carries more virtue than the spending of gold and silver in the service of Allah or taking part in jihad and slaying or being slain in the path of Allah? The dhikr of Allah.” ( Malik’s Muwatta’, the Musnad of Ahmad)
“If people sit in an assembly in which they do not remember Allah nor invoke a blessing on the Prophet, it will be a cause of grief for them on the Day of Judgment.” (Narrated by Tirmidhi, who graded it hasan.)
When I want to talk to Allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
