Essale sawaab
Saying
of Hadrat Abu Huraira: Is there any of you who will undertake to pray two or
four rak’ahs on my behalf in the mosque of al-Ashshar, stating, “they are
on behalf of Abu Hurayrah”
(Sunan Abi Dawood,
Kitab al-Malaahim, Vol 2, Page 244, Hadith 3754, Shau’ab al-Imans lil Bayhaqi,

RECITATION OVER THE FOOD/FATHIHA
Hafidhh
Ibn-Kathir writes :One day Prophet [ﷺ ] was invited to someone’s house.
Prophet [ﷺ
] accepted the invitation and he bought a lot of companions with him to the
house. There was a very short amount of food for the people. The Prophet [ﷺ ] said to bring the food out. Prophet
[ﷺ ] read whatever Allah wanted on the
food and du’a was also done on the food and the food was given to the people.
After the people had eaten the food, there was still the same amount of food
left as it was before the people started to eat. (Tareekh Ibn Kathir &
Siraat un Nabi Chapter of Mujizat)
From this narration it proves that to do Du’a on food is not an Innovation but
it is Sunnah and is only done for the purpose of Barakah [blessing] and so the
food does not be short.
Hafidhh-Ibn-Kathir writes:When Allah Almighty revealed this verse of the Qur’an
which states ‘ O Beloved, warn your nearest Kinsmen’, the Prophet [ﷺ ] said to Ali ‘O Ali, sacrifice a
goat and cook that meat and bring milk and fruit with the cooked to my house
for a party’. At the party, Muhammad [ﷺ ] said ‘I am a Prophet of Allah, I have
been sent to guide you to the right path, so become a Muslim’. When the family
heard this, they started to laugh and they left the house. This happened for
three days continuously. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Surah Al-Shuara, under verse 214]
ALLOWED TO HAVE A MOSQUE NEAR THE GRAVE
Imam Tabari and
Hafidhh-Ibn-Kathir write, in the 88th year of Hijra, the room of Aisha [ra]
where there are graves of the Prophet Muhammad [ﷺ ] Abu-Bakr [ra] and Umar [ra] were
joined to the mosque of the Prophet Muhammad [ﷺ ]. (Tareeh Tabari and Tareeh Hafidhh
Ibn-Kathir, Chapter of Government (Valid-Ibn-Abdul-Malik by Imam Tabari and
Hafidhh Ibn-Kathir) At the time of this, some companions and students (Tabeen)
were alive and since then, no one has objected to this, which means it is
allowed to have a mosque near the grave.
MAKING INTENTION OF VISITING THE GRAVE
Qadi Shawkani writes that:After the
Prophet’s (ﷺ ) death, Bilal settled in Syria. He had a dream where he
saw the Prophet (ﷺ ) and the Prophet said what kind of friend are you that
you do not come and visit my grave? The next morning, Bilal made a journey to
Madina to see the Prophet’s (ﷺ ) grave. At
that time the companions were alive and they did not object to this. This
narration is authentic. [Nal lul Autar chap on Hajj by Qadi Shawkani].
It is recorded in
Mishkaat Sharif, Chapter of Miracles (Al-Mu’jizaat). It is reported by Hadrat
Abu Huraira(ra) that once he brought some dates in the presence of the Holy
Prophet (ﷺ ) and requested him to pray for its abundant
growth. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) mixed these dates
together and prayed for increased growth of the dates (dry fruit). [Tirmidhi, Bab al-Manaqib, Vol 12, Page 327,
Hadith 3774]
It is recorded in the
Mishkaat, Babul Mujizat that in the Battle of Tabuk, At one stage of the battle
a shortage of food was felt in the Islamic army. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) asked every man present there to bring whatever was with him.
Every one brought whatever was with him and presented it to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ ). The tablecloth was spread. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) prayed for the blessing over the food so spread. After this he
asked the men to put back the food in the utensils (pots) as a reserve for
eating at the food time. [Mishkat al-Masabih,
Baab al-Maujizat, Page 539]
In the same Mishkaat, it is also recorded that On the wedding of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) with Hadrat Zainab, Hadrat Umm-e-Saleem prepared a small quantity of valima in celebration of the wedding. But the Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) invited a large number of Companions to attend the Valima. The food was obviously short. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) recited some prayer on the food and passed his Holy hand over the food. [Mishkat al-Masabih, Baab al-Maujizat, Page 539]
On the occasion of the battle of Trench (Ghazwa-e-Khandaq), the Companion Hadrat Jabir prepared some small quantity of food for the Holy Prophet (ﷺ ). When the Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) came to Hadrat Jabir, He brought some kneaded flour with intent for prayer for its sufficiency to feed the number of guest-companions whom the Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) had brought with them to participate in taking the food. The Holy Prophet (ﷺ ) offered Dua for the barakah in the food and mixed his blessed saliva (lu’ab) as a token of blessing. [Mishkat al-Masabih, Baab al-Maujizat, Page 539]
It is said that the
Syeduna Rasoolullah ﷺ while sacrificing the
animal of Qurbani prayed for the blessings in favour of the Ummah while the
animal of sacrifice lay before him, he recited he following dua on that
occasion: O Allah! Accept this Qurbani (Sacrifice) on behalf of my Ummah. [Sunan Abi Dawood, Vol. 2, Page 30]
When I want to talk to Allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
