Milad-Happiness
“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)
The Permissibility of Celebrating Milad-un-Nabi
“Allah(swt) has done a more favour upon Muslims by sending His Beloved Messengerﷺ to them.” 3/164
“It is He (Allah(swt)) who has sent His Messenger ﷺ with salvation and the Deen of Truth (lslam).” 9/33
Even the Holy Quran records the informing of Hadrat Esa(as), “I give glad tidings of a prophet ﷺ named Ahmad to come after me.,”’ – 61/6
“Express much happiness and joy on the mercy and blessings of Allah(swt).” 12/58 .This means that expressing joy on the blessings of Allah(swt) is a Divine instruction. Rasoolullahﷺ is both the Mercy and Favour of Allah(swt). as happiness here is absolute (mutlaq). Every permissible happiness is included in it. Therefore, holding Meclad Sharif, decorating the area where it will occur, etc. are all means of reward.
It is Sunnah to commemorate happiness.
To feed people after an important or virtuous deed is the practice of the Sahaba.Meelad celebration causes the recitation of Durood and Salaam. Durood and Salaam are required by Shari’ah.When certain of the Sahabah used to recite the praises of Rasoolullah ﷺ in poetry form, Rasoolullah ﷺ used to rejoice and reward those Sahabah.
This is an accepted principle of Shari’ah that the performance of something is proof of Jawaaz (permissibility), and not doing it is NOT the proof of its prohibition.
To mention the miracles and character of Rasoolullah ﷺ leads towards love and the completion of Iman with him, which is required by the Shari’ah.
We do not fix a particular day or night for the Meelad and believe that Meelad is not Ja’iz (permissable) on any other date.
Even the Kalima Tayyiba contains Meelad Sharif, as it says, “Muhammadﷺ” is the Rasool of Allah(swt) ” Rasool means the one who is sent, and ‘coming’ is necessary in being sent.
… expressing joy on the blessings of Allah(swt) is a Divine instruction.
The Quran Sharif also chronicles the birth, infancy, nurturing, etc. of Hadrat Musa (as)/ hadrat esa(as).
Reciting and saying Naath Sharif is an excellent form of ibaadat. The Sahaaba and all Muslims accept Naath Sharif as Mustahab.
Distributing sweetmeats is a good action. Feeding food and distributing sweet edibles on occasions of happiness is proven from the Ahadith. Inviting people to eat for an Aqeeqah, Waleemah, etc. is Sunnah – but why? Simple! These are occasions of happiness.
At the specific time of Nikah, distributing dates is Sunnat as an expression of joy.
It is the custom of deeni teachers to distribute sweetmeats on the commencement and ending of a deeni kitaab.
When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
