To Recite Salat-o-Salam Upon the Holy Prophet

Rasoolullah ﷺ had amongst his Ashaab, poets who used to refute the slanders of the enemies and eulogize (praise) the Holy Prophet ﷺ. Rasoolullah ﷺ liked the poetry of Hazrat Hassan ibn Thabit (ra) the most. He offered the Mimbar to Hazrat Hassan (ra), who would censure the enemies and praise Rasoolullah ﷺ on the Mimbar. Rasoolullah ﷺ on hearing the poetry of Hazrat Hassan (ra) prayed, “Allahumma ayyidhu bi rooh hil Qudus!” (O Allah, let the holy spirit (Jibrael) be his helper (in recitation) (Mishkaat)

When Rasoolullah ﷺ made Hijra and entered Madina, the people sang out, “Tala`a al-badru `alayna, Min thaniyyat al-wada`, Wajaba al-shukru `alayna, Ma da`a lillahi da`”.

Ulama from time immemorial have been writing and reciting Naat and Qasaa’id in Praise of Rasoolullah ﷺ in a variety of languages.

All worships such as prayers, fasting, the pilgrimage, charity and donations are the commandments of Allah but not His sunnah.

The showering of blessings and salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ is the Divine practice of Allah, His sunnah. As the glory of Allah is the highest and the most exalted, so His sunnah is also the highest and the most exalted.

When you hear the mu’adhdhin, repeat what he says, then invoke blessings on me for every one who invokes blessings on me once, will receive ten blessings from Allah. Then ask Allah for the waseelah to be granted to me. It is a position in paradise that may not be granted to any but one of Allah’s servants, and I dearly hope that I will be that servant. Whoever asks Allah for the waseelah for me, my intercession is guaranteed for him. Muslim, as-Saheeh, b. of salat (prayer) ch.7 (1: 288-9 # 384),Abu Dawood, Sunan, b. of salāt (prayer) 1: 144 (# 523),

Standing up (Qiyaam) whilst offering Salawat (Blessings) and Salaam (Salutations) to Rasoolullah ﷺ is desirable and commendable (mustahab) .

It is an act of happiness, respect and love .

Hazrat Aisha Siddiqa (radi Allahu anha) has narrated: “I have never encountered anyone that had emulated the Holy Prophet ﷺ in manner, likeness and speech more than Fathima (radi Allahu anha), may Allah honour her face. When she came in to visit him (the Prophet) he got up to (welcome) her, took her by the hand, kissed her and made her sit where he was sitting; and when he went in to visit her, she got up to (welcome) him, took him by the hand, kissed him, and made him sit where she was sitting”. (Sunan Abu Dawood; Ash atul Lama aat)

Hazrath Abu Huraira (ra) said that the Holy Prophet ﷺ was seated with them in the mosque and speaking to them. When he rose to depart, they all rose with him and remained standing until he entered any of the houses of his Blessed Wives. (Mishkaat)

…. … The Prophet ﷺ then stood up and the PEOPLE STOOD UP. They began to kiss his hand, whereupon I took his hand and placed it on my face. I found it more fragrant than musk and cooler than sweet water.” (Abu Dawud; Ibn Majah)

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

Make sure you forward this to others .
