“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)
Mehfil e darood
One should read with the sole intention of pleasing Almighty Allah and Sayyiduna Rasoolullah ﷺ.
It should be read with utmost humility and respect.
The clothes of the reciter should be clean and free from all impurity.
The place where the Durood Shareef is to be read should be clean.
It is more superior to be in a state of Wudhu while reciting the Durood Shareef.
It is better to sit in the Tashahudd position as you would sit when in Salaah and recite the Durood Shareef with concentration and the respect due to it.
It is preferable to face Madinatul Munawwarah.
If possible, one should have sweet fragrance around the place.
The reciter should try and understand the meaning of the Durood Shareef.
A person should try his level best to follow the example or Sunnah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
you should try and imagine that you are sitting in the august presence of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah ﷺ. Utmost respect and reverence should be displayed.
It is also preferable to kiss one’s thumb and rub them over one’s eyes when hearing the name of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
Darood o salaam is considered a dhik remembrance of Allah, and the dhikr of Allah can be done in any manner – standing, sitting or lying down.
Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting and lying on their sides (3/191).
If the standing position is said to be disliked as it constitutes a position reserved for the worship of Allah (SWT) alone, then sending blessings whilst sitting or lying down should also be banned as they are of equal merit and stature!
Its a Divine practice. Yet you will never find any change in Allah’s practice.
As Allah Himself has acted upon this command this divine practice becomes the sunnah of Allah. In Religious practices we follow the sunnah of the holy Prophetﷺnot the sunnah of Allah.
All worships such as prayers, fasting, the pilgrimage, charity and donations are the commandments of Allah but not His sunnah.
As the glory of Allah is the highest and the most exalted, so His sunnah is also the highest and the most (35/43.)exalted. The sunnah of the Prophet ﷺcannot equate with the sunnah of Allah (SWT).
So allah’s sunnah is also unique, peerless and infinite.
Sunnah of allah is free from all bindings of time and other subsidiary obligations.
As such blessings and salutations upon the Prophet ﷺis an ongoing process, an act for all times, securing its perpetual nature.
Greetings can be sent in any language because it is Allah’s sunnah. It is free from all restraints.
No condition on time, place and posture( standing, sitting or lying down).
the concept of ‘ibadah/worship, is a broad based one encompassing all acts that are done to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah.
Ibadat means to seek pleasure of almighty allah.
Darood =sawaab/reward AND salam=jawab/nearness
In duniya =allah will reward you with salat AND ahkirat =filled with salam (allah’s sunnat)
Through angels =ajar e karim /reward
Through prophet(saws)=fazal e kabira /eternal highest blessings
Through ibadat=ajar/reward AND through nabi(saws)=fazl e karima
Ahkirat is higher than duniya
When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
Make sure you forward this to others .
