The Sunnah: The Practice and Lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Shah Abd al-Aziz Of Delhi (Ra) in Tafsir Azizia….Allah swears by His beloved’s city, face, hair, lineage and birth to expound the fact that loving Rasulallah and everything attached to him is Allah’s practice or Sunnat.

(2/144)-Allah made it clear to His beloved that He has no concern with direction. His concern is His beloved’s pleasure. Our Qiblah was determined according to Holy Prophets pleasure. Therefore Allah (Almighty and Glorious is He) says Everyone seeks Allah’s pleasure, whilst Allah seeks His Rasul’s pleasure. The Qiblah was changed in between the four cycles (rakaats) of Asr Salaah. Two rakaats were performed facing Jerusalem and the Prophet () made a 360-degree turn and faced in the opposite direction to Makkah the Ennobled. The Companions (Sahaba) never questioned, they turned around also and adjusted their position. It is stated that those who turned were the ten who were promised paradise. The hypocrites in the congregation mumbled but the Sahaba followed the beloved.

73/1-2 Allah displays His love for his Beloved’s welfare. To love Holy Prophet () is the Sunnat of Allah.

The status of Allah’s Sunnat is greater than Rasul’s Sunnat. Thus love for Rasulullah () is greater than all Ibadat. The merit of all Ibadat is dependent on his love.

“And O you Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, disbelievers)! Get apart this Day (from the believers).” (36/59)

Since there is no other prophet to come after the Holy Prophet  it is not permitted to adopt any way of life other than his.

There is another report from Hazrat Jabir that has most probably been cited afore that once Hazrat Umar bin al-Khattab ra brought a copy of the Torah in the Holy Prophet’s ﷺ presence and said: “O Apostle of Allah! This is a copy of the Torah.” At this the Holy Prophet ﷺ kept silent. So Hazrat Umar began to read it. The Holy Prophet’s  bright face began to change. At this Hazrat Abu Bakr ra told Hazrat Umar: “Don’t you see the Holy Prophet’s ra luminous face”? So Hazrat Umar looked at his face and said: “I seek Allah’s protection from Allah’s anger and the Apostle’s anger. We sincerely agree with Allah’s being our Lord, Islam being our religion, and Muhammad being our prophet.”

Then the Holy Prophet ﷺ said: “By that Being in Whose Possession is my life! Even if Moses comes amongst you and you begin to follow him and leave me, you will go astray from the right path. Were Moses alive and had been contemporary with me he too would have followed me.” This is the reason that with the approach of the Day of judgement when Jesus descends from heaven, he too will follow the Muhammadan Law and the Holy Prophet’s  way of life.

“Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned.” (26/227).

In fact the more a man loves a person the more he wishes to imitate the beloved’s works, i.e. copy him/her in every thing.

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

Make sure you forward this to others .
