Dars e Imam-Ilm e Ghaib

Dras E Imam, Shariath

“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

Allah Ta’ala orders us not to call upon the Prophet in the same way as we call upon each other: “Make not the summoning of the Messenger among yourselves, like one calls the other among you.” (Surah al-Furqan: 63) When we call upon the Prophet it must be with utmost respect and not like how we call each other. This Ayah is sufficient evidence, because besides making it permissible, Allah Ta’ala also shows us the etiquette/manners when calling Rasoolullah .

Imam Bukhari (ra) in his “Kitaabul Adaabul Mufrad” recorded that Hazrat Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar (ra) once suffered from a cramp. Someone advised him to remember the person whom he loved the most. The great companion then proclaimed loudly, “YA MUHAMMADAH”. It is recorded that he was immediately relieved.

Tafseer-e-Kabir observes that Allah Ta’ala revealed to Hazrat Muhammad the Holy Quran, and the knowledge, and taught him the Divine Secrets, and implications.

Tafseer-e-Jalalain says that Allah Ta’ala taught the Holy Prophet the Shari’ah Laws and the religion, and taught him the Unseen, which he knew not, and gave him the knowledge of that which was hidden in the human mind, and disclosed to him the evil doings of the Hypocrites.

Tafseer-e-Hussaini Bahrul Haqaeq says …the absolute knowledge of all Unseen which Allah Ta’ala granted to Hazrat Muhammad during the Me’raj. The Hadith of Me’raj reports the Holy Prophet as saying: “I was beneath the Arsh when Allah put a drop into my throat and (with that) I attained the knowledge of the past and the future.”

Commentators observe that Allah Ta’ala has created Lauh-e-Mahfooz, a Tablet on which the Destinies of the world since it’s creation are written. It contains the Knowledge of all possible things. The knowledge of the Holy Prophet encompasses the Lauh/tablet. The Holy Quran contains whatever is written in the Lauh and since the Holy Prophet has been taught the Quran, he has the Knowledge of the Lauh-e-Mahfooz.

Allah Ta’ala showed Hazrat Adam (alaihis salaam) all His creatures in person and made him learn the things by their names. Allah Ta’ala taught him the names of those who would be in his generation and also taught him all the languages. Allah Ta’ala also taught him the Names of Angels and all human beings who would belong to his generation, and the names of animals and vegetation, and taught him to manufacture things, and taught him the names of the cities and towns, and trees, and the names of those whom He will create until Doomsday, and taught him the names of all the gifts in Paradise.

The knowledge of Adam (alaihis salaam), who is first Khalifa (vicegerent) of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad , is a drop in the ocean when compared with the knowledge that Allah Ta’ala gave to his beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad . When the knowledge of a Khalifa is so vast and overwhelming, one can well estimate the magnitude of the knowledge of the original person.

BELIEFS AND CLASSIFICATIONS REGARDING KNOWLEDGE OF THE UNSEEN-First category

1. Allah(swt) is Aalim biz-Zaat, i.e. no one can know a single letter without Him telling and bestowing it.

2. Allah(swt) has granted the Holy Prophet and other prophets knowledge  some of His Ghaib.

3. The knowledge of the Noble Messenger is more than the entire creation’s. These three belief are amongst the beliefs necessary to have Imaan upon (Zarooriyaatc Deen) and it is infidelity (kufr) to reject them.

Second category

l. The Auliya are also bestowed some Knowledge of the Unseen through the blessings and mediation (waseela) of the Prophets.

2. Allah(swt) has granted the Holy Prophet the knowledge of many parts the Five Ghaibs (mentioned at the end of Surah Luqmaan). The person who rejects this second category is astray and of a deviant sect because he effectively refutes numerous Ahadith.

Third category

1. Rasoolullah has also been bestowed with the knowledge of Qiyaamat as well (i.e. when it will occur).

2. The knowledge of all past and future events recorded on the Protected Tablet (Lawhe-Mahfooz) – rather, more than that – has been given to him.

3. The Holy Prophet has knowledge of the reality of the soul as well as all Mutashaabahaat of the Holy Quran.

Whenever a refuter of Ilm-e-Ghaib produces a proof, the following are necessary to be bared in mind. – Izaahatul-Aib, Pg. 4

1. The ayat must be qateeud-dalaotat, i.e. a few other possibilities in meaning cannot arise from it. If it is a Hadith, it should be transmitted (mutawatir).

2. The verse or hadith must negate knowledge having been bestowed. e.g. “We have not given or by the Holy Prophet saying.”I have not been granted this knowledge.”

3. Merely not disclosing something is not sufficient. It is possible for the Holy Prophet to have its knowledge but not reveal it based on his wisdom. Similarly, by Rasoolullah saying, “Only Allah(swt) knows; No one knows besides Allah(swt) What do I know? etc:’ is also not sufficient as these utterances are sometimes used to negate llrn-e-Zaati (Allah’s(swt) unique knowledge) or to silence the person spoken to.

4. Whatever’s knowledge is negated has to have been an incident that occurred and should be until Qiyaamat. Otherwise, we also do not claim the knowledge of all incidents after Qiyaamat.

Ihsan/perfection is by experience

1.mushahida(visualizing Allah)

Mushahada=visualizing by perfect mujahida

2.muraqaba(meditation) Allah is watching me and negation of self (I/nafs)

Muraqaba opens doors of spirituality.

Speak to people of haal about haal not to the common people via muraqaba

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

Make sure you forward this to others .
