“Bismillahir Rahmannir Raheem”Al-Hamdu Lillaahi Rabbil ‘Aalameen was Salaatu was- Salaamu ‘Alaa Sayidinaa Muhammadin wa Aalihi wa Asabihi Ajma ‘een (tauheed- risalat- ahkirat and islam-iman-ihsan)

Who gives his wealth away (in the cause of Allah) to attain to purity (of his soul and assets), And who owes no favour to anyone that he is seeking to pay back. 92/18

…Rather (he spends) seeking the pleasure of his Lord, Most High. And soon shall he be well-pleased (with Allah for His bestowal and Allah with him for his fidelity).92/21

Have you not seen the people who show themselves off as pure? Nay, Allah is the One Who purifies whom He pleases…..4/49

Say: ‘My Prayer, my Hajj (Pilgrimage) and my sacrifice (together with the entire worship and servitude) and my life and my death are for Allah alone, the Lord of all the worlds.6/162

‘Indeed, Allah accepts (offering) only from the people of piety.5/27

Verily, Allah does not change the state of a people until they bring about a change in themselves. 13/11

And whoever acquires purity does so to his own benefit. And to Allah is the return.35/18

The angels take their lives whilst they are pure, clean, pleased and contented (due to obedience and piety. The angels tell them the moment they take their lives:) ‘Peace be upon you! Enter Paradise due to (the pious deeds) that you used to do.’16/32

Abu Hurayrah(ra)reported that Allah’s Messenger said: When a believer dies, the angels of mercy come to him with a piece of white silk. They say, “Depart(from the body) to Allah’s (granted) happiness.” It departs with the most beautiful scent of musk. They even pass it from one angel to the next, smelling it. When they arrive at the gate of the (lowest)heaven, they are asked, “What is this beautiful scent coming from the earth?” They continue their ascent; and as they arrive at each one of the heavens, the same thing is said to them. They (the angels) take it to (the location of) the souls of the believers. They (the other souls) are happier in meeting it than are those to whom a beloved one returns after a long absence. They ask it, “What happened to such and such (a disbeliever)?” Some of them interrupt, “Leave him until he rests, because he was in the grief of the world.” However, he says, “He died; did he not come to you?” They (the angels) then say, “He was taken to a bottomless pit (of Fire).” As for a disbeliever, the angels of punishment come to him with coarse fabric and say, “Depart(from the body) to Allah’s wrath.” It departs, smelling like the worst of decayed corpses. It is then taken to the gate of the earth.(ibn hibban)

Narrated Abu Hurayrah (ra):Allah’s Messenger as saying, “Did you not see when the man died and his eyes were fixedly open?” He (Abu Hurayrah) said, ‘Yes.’ He (the Holy Prophet) said, “It is due to the fact that when (the soul leaves the body) his eyesight follows the soul.” (muslim)

Narrated from Abu Hurayrah(ra):The Prophet said, “When the Believer is dying, the angels of mercy come to him with white silk and say, ‘Come out content and with the pleasure of Allah upon you, to the mercy of Allah, fragrance and a Lord Who is not angry.’ So it comes out like the best fragrance of musk. They pass him from one to another until they bring him to the gate of Heaven, where they say, ‘How good is this fragrance that has come to you from the Earth!’ Then the souls of the Believers [who have already died] come to him [the newly arrived soul] and they rejoice more over him than any one of you rejoices when his absent loved one comes to him. They ask him, ‘What happened to So and so, what happened to So and so?’…”(Nasaai)

The Prophet said:“The soul of the Believer is a bird hanging in the trees [i.e. moving about and eating] of Paradise, until Allah restores it to its body on the day when He resurrects him.” (Malik in al-Muwatta)

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said, “Does his soul meet with the souls of his family and relatives? According to the hadith narrated from Abu Ayub al-Ansaari and others of the salaf, and narrated by Abu Hatim in al-Saheeh from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), “When his soul is taken up it is met by the souls who ask him about the living and they say to one another, ‘Let him rest.’ And they say, ‘What happened to so and so?’ And he says, ‘He did a righteous deed.’ They say, ‘What happened to so and so?’ and he says, ‘Has he not come to you?’ They say, ‘No.’ They say, ‘He was taken to the Pit (of Hell).’””
