DREAMS –ALAAMS(COSMOS)

The dream of a prophet is revelation. The dream of a saint is inspiration. The dream of an enlightened person is intuition. The dream of others is illumination or indication

The only source of glad tidings, prophecy and revelation, that remains to the present day are dreams revealed upon the momineen by Allah.

(Al-Mubashshirat)”The true good dreams (that conveys glad tidings).” (bukhari

“Whoever sees me in a dream will see me in his wakefulness, and Satan cannot imitate me in shape.” (bukhari

Whoever has seen me in a dream, then no doubt, he has seen me, for Satan cannot imitate my shape.  (bukhari

“The worst lie is that a person claims to have seen a dream which he has not seen.” (bukhari

“Good dreams come from Allaah, and (bad) dreams come from Shaytaan. Whoever sees something that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge with Allaah from the Shaytaan, for it will not harm him.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6594, and Muslim, 5862)

“True dreams are one of the forty-six parts of Prophethood.” (al-Bukhaari, 6472; Muslim, 4201)

The truthfulness of the dream is related to the sincerity of the dreamer. Those who have the most truthful dreams are those who are the most truthful in speech. (Muslim, 4200)

Prophetic dreams

The sleep of Prophets is unique. As we know the Prophet Muhammad informed us that his ‘heart’ remained awake even when he slept, so he didn’t need to redo ablution on waking up from sleep. Also, he informed us that Allah fed him during the night, for that reason he kept ‘Sawm Al Wisal’, which is forbidden for others. Prophet Muhammad informed us that there is a shaitan (jinn) with everyone, but he made the jinn with him a Muslim, by the grace of Allah. So, the dreams the Prophet had always used to be from Allah. Also, the dreams of Prophets used to be an order from Allah, and were of a legal importance unlike the dream of anyone of us .

The dream of the Prophet  is not like our dreams. They are revelations.

Narrated By ‘Aisha: Allah’s Apostle said (to me), “You were shown to me twice in (my) dream. Behold, a man was carrying you in a silken piece of cloth and said to me, “She is your wife, so uncover her,’ and behold, it was you. I would then say (to myself), ‘If this is from Allah, then it must happen.'”[Sahih Bukhari, Vol 9, Book 87, Hadith #139]

Indeed Allah shall fulfil the true vision which He showed to His Messenger (SAW) [i.e. the Prophet saw a dream that he has entered Makkah along with his companions, having their (head) hair shaved and cut short] in very truth. Certainly, you shall enter AlMasjidalHaram; if Allah wills, secure, (some) having your heads shaved, and (some) having your head hair cut short, having no fear. He knew what you knew not, and He granted besides that a near victory. (Al-Fath 48:27)

(Remember) when Yusuf (Joseph) said to his father: “O my father! Verily, I saw (in a dream) eleven stars and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating themselves to me.” He (the father) said: “O my son! Relate not your vision to your brothers, lest they arrange a plot against you. Verily! Shaitan (Satan) is to man an open enemy! “Thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of dreams (and other things) and perfect His Favour on you and on the offspring of Ya’qub (Jacob), as He perfected it on your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham) and Ishaque (Isaac) aforetime! Verily, your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise.” (Yusuf 12:6)

The six lessons to be learned from the above Ayahs

1. Always choose a pious person to tell your dream who is also wise

2. Do not tell your dream to people who are full of envy, jealousy, hate, malice and other evils of the heart.(They are called diseases of the heart)

3. Dreams come as symbols at times(The 11 stars were the 11 brothers of Yusuf

The sun was his mother(rachele) and the moon was his father(yaqub)

4. The ability to interpret dreams is a gift from Allah (swt) given to whom He pleases

5. Yaqub (Jacob) had firasa and hikma because he knew the meaning of the dream

And he also knew his brothers would plot against him

Firasa means intuition – the deep insight and foresight of a believer

6. Sibling rivalry is a reality(Siblings means your brothers and sisters)

Nafs is for kidmate e elahi –duniya

Ruh is for qurb e elahi (love+knowledge)

When I want to talk to allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)

Make sure you forward this to others .
