Imam Torpashti (ra) states that family here refers to the Prophet’s Pure wives and very closest relatives. Holding onto them means loving and respecting them, acting upon their narrated ahadith and trusting and relying upon their statements.
The Prophet ﷺ said ‘My companions are like the stars, whichever of
them you follow you will find guidance’ (Mirqaat). This is also the
station of the Prophet’s companions, it is important to love them, act upon
their narrated ahadith and trust and rely upon their statements.
Ibn Asakir in his “Arbain fi ummahatil muminin” (p 137, hadis 28) narrated from Umm Salama:“While the messenger of Allah ﷺ was in my house one day, the servant came and said: “Ali and Fatima are at the door”. He said: “Withdraw”, and I withdrew to a corner of a house. Ali and Fatima enter with Hasan and Husayn who were young children. He took Hasan and Husayn and sat them in his lap, and embraced Ali and brought him to him, and took Fatima with his other arm and embraced them both and kissed them. He draped a black cloak over them and said: “O Allah to you, not to the fire, both myself and my family”. Umm Salama said: “And I messenger of Allah?”. He said: “And you”.Ibn Asakir said hadith sahih. And at next page he said:“It is related by another route in which he said: “You are part of my family“.
“Allah solves the difficulty through his hand(hazrat
ali(ra)).” (Mishkaat, page 563). The “Fataah” (Actual solving of difficulties)
is Allah alone, but solves through the hand of Ali alayhis ‘salam.
Hazrat Umar (Ra) said “Umar would have
got killed if Ali didn’t help.” (Al-Isti’aab fi Ismaa al-Ashaab, volume 3, page
39).
In “As-Sawaaiq al-Muharriqa, page
127” it is stated with reference to Ibn Sa’ad “Umar bin Khattab used to ask
refuge to Allah in getting difficulty when Ali is not present for it”
Muslim, Tirmizi and Nasai have recorded from Zaid bin Arqam that the Noble
Prophet ﷺ said: “Fear Allah!
Beware that you do not distance yourself from my Ahle Bayt.”
The same tradition is recorded in Sahih Muslim in the chapter of the
excellences of Ali Ibne Abi Talib (Karam Allahu wajhahu). The Messenger of Allah
(ﷺ) has repeated the words
“Fear Allah” thrice.
Masruq narrates from the Mother of the Believers Ayeshah (ra) that the Holy
Prophet (SAW) said, “Fatimah (R.A), are you not happy that you are the
leader of the women of all the believers or the leader of the women of this
ummah.” (Sahih Bukhari)
Abu Huraira (ra) reported Allah’s
Messenger (ﷺ) as saying to Hasan (R) : O Allah, behold, I love him.
Thou too love him and love one who loves him. (Sahih Muslim)
Al-Bara’ b. Azib reported: I saw
Hasan b. ‘Ali (ra) upon the shoulders of Allah’s Apostle ﷺ and he was saying: O Allah,
I love him, and love him Thou. (Sahih Muslim)
Hudhaifah (RA) narrates that the
Holy Prophet (ﷺ) said, “There is an angel who before tonight had never
come down to earth, asked permission from his Lord to offer salam (salutations)
to me and to deliver the good news to me that Fatimah (ra) is the leader of all
women of Paradise and Hasan (RA) and Husain (RA) are the leaders of all the
youngsters in Paradise.” (timirdhi , Nisai)
Zirr reported: ‘Ali ( Karam’Allahu Wajhu) observed: By Him Who split up the seed and created something living, the Apostle (may peace and blessings be upon him) gave me a promise that No one but a believer would love me, and none but a hypocrite would nurse grudge against me. (Sahih Muslim)
Allah SubHanuhu wa Ta’ala says in the Holy Qur’an:say [42/23] This is that of which Allah gives the glad-tidings to His bondmen who believed and did good deeds. Say you, “I ask not of you any wage for it but affection in respect of kinship”. And whoever does a good-deed, We shall increase to him good in respect thereof. Undoubtedly, Allah is Forgiving, Appreciating.
Sa’eed bin Mansur in his Sunan
narrates from Sa’eed bin Jubayr Radi Allahu Ta’ala Anhu, He said: In this
verse close ones refers to the relatives of the Prophet ﷺ. [Jami’ al-Bayan,
Vol. 11, Page 144 | Zakhair al-‘Uqba, Page 33, Durr al-Manthur, Vol. 5, Page
701 | Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol. 3, Page 288]
33/57. Surely, those who offend Allah and His Prophet, Allah curses them in the world and in the Hereafter and He has prepared for them a disgraceful torment.
33/58. And those who hurt the believing men and the believing women without their doing anything (wrong), surely, they bear (themselves) the burden of a false allegation and an open sin.
When I want to talk to Allah I say prayers and when I want that he talk to me I recite quran- Hazrath Ali(ra)
